77 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 18 percent Merlot, 3 percent Malbec, 2 percent Petit Verdot.
Even on release the 2005 Merus was very approachable and luscious, with intense and lively aromas of pomegranate, crushed dried flowers, ripe black fruit, licorice, spices, and a pure, creamy minerality. A seamless wine with velvety tannins, it will age beautifully as well.

96 Points - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
“…certainly one of the finest wines they have yet made…dense purple-colored to the rim, with an exquisite nose of charcoal, graphite, and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied, with great power, richness, and sensational length, this wine will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and last three decades.”
96 Points - Jim Laube, The Wine Spectator
“Super-rich, smooth and creamy. A seductive style…Ends with a powerful yet elegant finish that keeps pumping out the flavors. Fine-grained tannins bode well for the future.”
